About Neighborworks Greater Manchester
Home Buyer Education & Assistance

The NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center of Manchester, sponsored by Bank of America, is a program of NeighborWorks® Greater Manchester, a non-profit community housing organization that has helped over 600 families purchase homes statewide.

The educational programs and lending products are an integral part of our approach to fulfill our mission of providing access to affordable housing services. The Home Ownership Center offers FREE pre and post purchase home ownership education, financial fitness training, landlord workshops, predatory lending awareness workshops, one on-one counseling, saving programs and access to special low-interest rate loan products to help home buyers achieve the dream of home ownership.

The first step in the process starts by attending an 8-hour Home Buyer Seminar. Once an individual graduates from the Home Buyer Seminar, they become eligible to meet with a home ownership counselor who will analyze what type of home you can afford. Once the customer is "mortgage ready" they meet with the lending manager to review mortgage options and help find the best mortgage product that meets the their needs.

If the customer is are not financially ready to purchase, the counselor schedules a one on-one counseling session to help them set up a step by step action plan to help them overcome obstacles to buying a home. The program offers help with repairing credit, budgeting, and money management, saving for a down payment, mortgage options, understanding the responsibilities of home ownership, review available down payment and closing cost assistance products.

All the education opportunities at the NeighborWorks® Home Ownership Center are open to the public and are offered free of charge. Start now by calling 603.626.4663 x 31 or register on line.
